Tentang Cinta

Nulis postingan kali ini kaya nulis sampah. Bener-bener ngerasa ngga guna. Masalahnya kata L ini lagi membebani hidup banget. What do I know about love coba? People have been betrayed, humiliated, broken for the sake of this L word. For me? I promise myself to never surrender to this ridiculous particular matter. Ever again.

Sampai beberapa minggu terakhir datang lagi. Menyiksa batin.

First thing first. What I am about to tell you is Eros. Not Agape, Philia or Storge.

Though I still find it hard to believe in L word, or would ever say the word again to any men. I am captivated by one love story which then affect my psychology entirely. The love triangle of Arthur-Guinevere-Lancelot.

Atau Knights of the Round Table?

Here is the story I took from encyclopedia.com. One of many verses. One of the best verses.

King Arthur, son of King Uther Pendragon and Queen Igraine, was a legendary British ruler in Camelot who took the wife of the daughter of King Leodegran of Scotland. Arthur admired the king’s lovely daughter and married her in spite of a warning from his adviser Merlin that Guinevere would be unfaithful to him. As a wedding gift, Leodegran gave Arthur a round table that would play a central role in his court. Guinevere lives happily with Arthur until she met Lancelot, known as the greatest knight of the Round Table and Arthur’s most trusted ally. Lancelot was the son of the King of Ban of Benoic in western France, but he was raised by the mystical figure Lady of the Lake. Lancelot grew up to become a knight without knowing his nobility.

Guinevere became acquainted with Lancelot, who performed various deeds to honor and rescue her. Their love grew passionately. At first, Arthur took no notice of the growing attachment between the queen and Lancelot. Later, however, the king was forced to accuse his wife of adultery and to fight her lover. Lancelot and Guinevere’s love into a full-blown affair, which in the end brought down the Round Table and ushered in the end of Arthur’s reign when Lancelot rescued the queen, who had been condemned to burn at the stake, and in the process killed several of Arthur’s knights. With the king reluctantly forced to attack Lancelot, the way was left open for Mordred to attack Camelot. Eventually, Guinevere returned to Arthur.

Mordred, taking advantage of the battle, began to plot against Arthur, planning to marry Guinevere and take over as ruler of Britain. The queen refused to cooperate with Mordred and locked herself in the Tower of London to avoid marrying him. When Arthur returned to reclaim his throne, the two men fought. Arthur killed Mordred but was fatally wounded.

One the other hand, Lancelot’s love for Guinevere was such that he resisted the charms of a maiden from  Astolat, who died of love for him. Another woman, Princess Elaine, daughter of King Pelleas, proved more enterprising. She tricked Lancelot into sleeping with her, pretending that she was Guinevere. Lancelot’s true love remained to Queen Guinevere. The uproar over Lancelot’s affair with Guinevere tore King Arthur’s court apart—as those who opposed Arthur had hoped that it would. Some of the knights followed Lancelot to France and set up another court, while others remained with Arthur. When Lancelot returned to Britain, Arthur’s court was no more.

Following the death of Arthur, Guinevere entered a convent, where she spent the rest of her life praying and helping the poor. Filled with remorse for the trouble she and her lover had caused, she vowed never to see Lancelot again. Lancelot followed her example and devoted himself to religious service as a monk until he died. When Guinevere died, she was buried beside King Arthur.

Guinevere and Lancelot’s passionate love was inevitable. Arthur realized that but as a king, he must brought justice and punished them. Though in the end, he accepted his wife back.

It’s maybe the most powerful thing which exists in our world. Might be wise to just embrace it.

Seperti penggalan puisi tahun 1830 karangan Alfred Lord Tennyson berjudul Sir Launcelot and Queen Guinevere: A Fragment berikut.

A man had given all other bliss,
And all his worldly worth for this,
To waste his whole heart in one kiss
     Upon her perfect lips.

A girl in the agony of love,

P.S. The entire storyline dunia Arthur Pendragon rencananya dibuat serial 6 film disutradarai Guy Ritchie. Film pertama Arthur: Legend of The Sword termasuk underrated ntah kenapa. I really love that movie. Aku tunggu aja apa ada kelanjutannya tahun depan.

    1. Hai Piananas.. (lucu namanya)
      Thank you for stopping by.

Hahaha..
      Already passed, anyway.

  1. Aku ingat dialog dalam scene di atas.
L: Ada banyak laki-laki kesepian di sana.
G: Tenang, aku tak akan membiarkan mereka memperkosamu.
    Btw, tulisan kamu bagus.
