Singapore: Sands SkyPark Observation Deck

Splendid view of Singapore from Sands SkyPark

Sunday, 23 April 2017

I was supposed to ride Singapore Flyer when Desmond recommended me to go to Marina Bay Sands instead. To the huge “ship” on top of three tall skyscrapers. I had no idea there was this superb place to see Singapore from 56th floor of the most famous building in the country. I knew there was Infinity Pool but not the Observation Deck. The Sands SkyPark was open for public. We may visit it for as long as we want with only $23, $10 less than Singapore Flyer.

This was the best decision I made during my visit to Singapore.

You haven’t seen Singapore until you’ve seen it from Sands SkyPark Observation Deck, soaring 57 levels above the heart of the city.

To visit Singapore, you have to measure the time, for you want to be in the right place at the right time. I came at 6 PM to Marina Bay Sands, an hour before the Sunset. This was the best time in which I could enjoy the daylight, Sunset and night light of the city, with a bonus of Garden Rhapsody Light Show at 7.45 PM.

To get here, depart at Bayfront MRT Station which was integrated to Marina Bay Sands mall. Follow the direction to Sands SkyPark and buy the ticket at Hotel Tower 3. As for me, I had bought a ticket from my hotel, $2 less.

All the panoramic vistas of the stunning Marina Bay, the world-class cityscape, the architectural wonders of Supertree Grove, and the vibrant colours characteristic of Gardens by the Bay were found here. From Marina South Pier all the way out to the Singapore Strait, I got a bird’s eye view of the bustling shipping lanes that have built Singapore’s rich multicultural history.

I was lucky enough to witness a spectacular sunset and nightly skyscraper of the city. Breathtaking view!

After getting out of the lift that take you to 56th floor, take photographs as many as you can around the entrance deck. At 6.30 PM, go to the West side of the deck and stay still. This side is the best spot to watch the sunset. All photographers will go this side, so stand/sit still. When the sunset is finally gone, approximately at 7.30 PM move to the opposite side of the deck, East view. Wait until the Light Show from Gardens By The Bay starts. It was awesome! If you have other appointment after, spare 30 minutes to 1 hour for the queue to come down using the lift.

Perfect weather, made perfect holiday. I was so blessed.

Have a great day!
