Cuisine of the Month: Kuningan City

Tiap hari selalu lewat.

Sayang banget nggak sih kalo dekat tapi belum pernah nyobain?

Why? Because my bf sukaaa banget sama nasi goreng ikan terinya. It’s the closest to which he used to eat back in Siantar. The other one mungkin Sushi Bar, karena ntah kenapa suka tetiba pengen makan sushi, kaya ngidam yang musti diturutin gitu. Huehehe..

Yang lainnya termasuk Hong Kong Cafe, Hummingbird Eatery, Sari Bagindo, Imperial Kitchen & Dimsum.

Kedua, tipe food courts, semacam indoor plaza which contiguous with the counters of various food vendors dan menyediakan common area untuk self-serve eating. Food courts di Kuningan City namanya Eatery letaknya di lantai 3. Vendornya termasuk Pepper Lunch, Pawon Jowo, Bakso Kota Cakman, Ayam Taliwang Lima Rasa, A Fung Baso Sapi Asli, HK Dimsum dan Tude Bakar Manado.

Ketiga tipe quick bites termasuk diantaranya BanhBanh, Okirobox, Mochi Mochi, Klaud’s dan Waffelicious. Keempat tipe cafe semacam Starbucks, Sophie Authentique, Excelso, Killiney Kopitiam.

Yang pernah aku coba Tahu Tahu, The Republic of Burger sama kios french fries House of Potato.

The post will be updated every now and then ya.

1 Sari Bagindo [July 20th]

I had a dinner here while waiting for 7.30 pm Star Trek: Beyond movie. Thought I’d stop by and tried their special dish. Guess it’s not my luck. First of all the ultimate menu I’ve been aiming to try was no longer available, Nasi 4 Rasa. Ugh. Really?

Second, they’re running out of Sayur Daun Singkong and Sambal Ijo. What’s a Nasi Padang without them? *upset. Anyhow, I ordered Nasi with Ayam Pop. And I have to give you that was the best Ayam Pop I’ve ever tasted. Haha..

A bit strange that this supposedly authentic Padang cuisine has so much sweet taste in them. I thought it should be more spicy. My bf enjoyed it very much, he ordered various menu. Well, at least someone had a satisfying dinner.

2 Hong Kong Cafe [July 1st]

And so, I went here after office at the same day I wrote the post. I was so excited to try my favourite dish, Cheese Baked Rice. The ambiance of the restaurant is a bit crowded and busy. Apparently, people loves to have a dinner in this place. I ordered the package menu cheese baked rice, two side dishes (dim sum) and iced tea for 65k++.

Buat rasa, ternyata ngga seenak yang dibayangkan. Hahaa.. soalnya dibandingkan cheese baked rice dari Sari Laut Jala-Jala, HKC masih kalah enak. Baked rice HKC ini malah mirip sama baked rice Pizza Hut. Nothing special.

3 Hummingbird Eatery [October 1st – it’s late, I know ahahahaa, wrote it anyway]

Hummingbird is always special to me. Even though, the food dishes taste mediocre (sorry), the ambiance is unique. The steak I ordered didn’t seem original. It was okay, I guess.

Location: 1st Floor

Friday afternoon I felt my tummy missing a plate of mouthwatering salmon sushi roll. And so, we went for Ichiban Sushi at first floor. Feeling a bit hungry, I ordered salmon roll (35k++) and katsu roll (24k++) while my bf asked for beef teriyaki donburi (35k++) and miso soup. My bf, who doesn’t enjoy eating sushi as I do, said how my face turned brighter after a bite, literally. LOL.

To be honest, compared to Sushi Tei, Ichiban is still less tasty. I wouldn’t recommend to eat here if Sushi Tei is within reach.

5 Outback Steakhouse [July 5th]

Location: Ground level

My bf and I had a late birthday dinner there. We I was excited to experience the famous steak myself. We ordered Outback Special Steak 6 oz with mashed potato, half BBQ Beef Ribs with french fries, soup of the day (Potato Soup) and half Kookaburra Wings. I never thought those would be too much, especially using the word “half”. But they were. My tummy was full and I don’t have any steak appetite for the next 2 months, at least. Hihiii..

The steak was tender and juicy and the complementary bread and its butter were delicious. I personally love them so much; the butter seemed to be the same used at Gandy Steak House. But the rest were a bit disappointing. The Ribs and Wings were too spicy (or salty) for me.

For way lower price, Holycow Steakhouse by Chef Afit still tops.

Alright then. See you in a bit for the updated post.

Stay excellent.

Oh and happy holiday for you who celebrates Eid Al-Fitr!
